IMPROVEMENTS

Keep The Contracts Coming
Based on community feedback, we’ve added a Play Next option to the debriefing screen for Contracts and Featured Contracts. Selecting it will take players directly to the relevant Contracts page.

Pull the Pin
Grenades in VR are now something you handle, not just something you throw. The pin is its own piece of geometry — pull it with your free hand, or bring the grenade up to your face and pull it with your teeth. Once it’s out the fuse is running, so you can cook the grenade in your hand and decide exactly when it leaves it. Thrown by hand or placed with the reticle, an armed grenade stays armed.

Ain’t No Rest in the Closet
A body stashed in a closet or container is no longer unkillable. You can shoot into the container to finish someone off - the shot is decided by the body’s own hitboxes, so you have to put it where they’re actually lying - and you’ll see the bullet holes land before a pool of blood spreads out from underneath a few seconds later. Explosives reach also impact Targets stashed incontainers. And because a stashed body can now be dealt with, targets can finally be stashed like everyone else. This applies also to VR.

A bird? A plane? A GRENADE!
NPCs have also learned to care. A live grenade landing nearby is now acknowledged, called out and run from rather than calmly ignored, a flash grenade stuns anyone already reacting to it, victims caught in a blast scream as it throws them, and lobbing one in front of someone is treated as the hostile act it always should have been.

Hands Up!
Flashbangs are no longer an unavoidable white-out in VR. Raising an arm in front of the headset now shields your eyes and cuts down the blinding effect.

Nothing to See Here
You can now hide an illegal item by putting something between it and the people around you — your own body, a wall, a pillar. If a guard can’t see what’s in your hand, they’ve got nothing to object to. This works in both VR and the flat game.

Open With Care
Rat poison vials now open by hand in VR. Take hold of the lid, pull it off, and pour.

Eaters of Death were here
The 3D skull hovering over a poisonable station in VR now disappears once you’ve poisoned it, so a glance tells you what’s already been handled.

Caution: Wet Floor
Picking up one of the yellow “slippery when wet” signs in VR now gets you accused of stealing rather than an instant arrest, so there’s a moment to put it back before anyone escalates.

Weaponized Potassium
Bananas just became a little more dangerous. When thrown, they will now split on impact, arming that familiar slip-trap. Bananas can still be placed as before. But beware - in VR they also split when dropped or tossed.

One Does Not Simply Insert a USB
Hacking Alma’s laptop on Hawke's Bay in VR now requires a little more hands-on work. Insert the USB, tap the keyboard to begin the hack, then keep typing as the data uploads.

BUG FIXES

Besides adding, crafting, and creating some new content we are also happy to ship another patch filled with fixes, stemming from the hardworking fingertips of our dedicated developers here at IOI.

STABILITY

Lockdown Lifted
We’ve fixed a crash that occurred when loading a save that had been made while a target was in lockdown.

Need to Know Basis
We’ve fixed a crash that could occur on all platforms when NPCs shared their knowledge of events happening around them.

GAMEPLAY

Panic at the Disco
Based on community feedback, we’ve adjusted the party music in The Herbalist where part of the track could be mistaken for the enforcer detection sound effect.

What The Duck?
The Bowtie Duck will once again remain visible on the map and minimap after being picked up by an NPC.

ENVIRONMENT ART

Off The Handle
Fixed an issue in Chongqing where broken door handles and hinges could be found floating or moving in the corridor leading to the Recruitment Station.

SPF 47474747
We’ve fixed an issue where SPF 47 could appear excessively large, particularly when viewed in VR.

LEVEL DESIGN

Leave No Trace
We’ve fixed an issue where equipping an item while inside a hiding spot could cause a previously held item to be left behind if 47 was also carrying a briefcase.

Attention Seekers
We’ve fixed an issue where destroyed security cameras could play their destruction sound multiple times.

THE HERBALIST SPECIFIC FIXES

Now You See It
We’ve cleaned up a number of visibility issues across the location. Water no longer pops in during the Villa Terrace fly-in, the pile of leaves by the underground farm staircase no longer vanishes at certain camera angles, and the ceiling panel on the laboratory’s upper level stays where it should.

Soft Furnishings
We’ve tidied up the set dressing. The pink curtains no longer clip through the wooden hut on Private Island, their lace detail now blends properly with the rest of the fabric, and the spare metal containers in the underground farm no longer sit halfway inside the wall.

Hold Still
We’ve fixed a handful of character issues around the farm and the laboratory. 47 no longer levitates while using certain covers and no longer clips through the rubbish bin when taking cover behind the boxes, Justine Bassey’s model stays inside her skirt while she’s being dragged, and Cyrus Cane keeps moving along the conveyor belt after being shot.

Walking on Water
We’ve restored a couple of the usual laws of physics. The ventilation system’s fans now stop spinning when the device is switched off, and crowd actors can no longer stroll across the surface of the water.

GAMEPLAY

We're Gonna Need a Mechanic
Fixed an issue on Steam Deck and Legion Go where players would be unable to take the mechanic disguise during Guided Training despite using the prompted input.

Slip Happens
We’ve fixed an issue where placed bananas would revert to their original appearance after loading a save, even though NPCs could still slip on them as intended.

Two Rifles, One Ladder
We’ve fixed an issue at the Safehouse where climbing a ladder while carrying two large items, such as sniper rifles, could cause the game to crash.

I Can See My Target From Here
We've fixed an issue where players in any mission were unable to aim through windows after changing their Weapon Aim to toggle.

Some Assembly Required
We’ve fixed an issue where remote EMP devices were missing their detonator on the inventory wheel icon.

Collision Detected
We’ve fixed an issue where bullets would pass straight through the UL-LR Sport Rifle instead of hitting it.

Hostile Makeover
We’ve fixed an issue in Colorado where the area would remain hostile after changing disguises twice.

You’re a Sportsman, Harry
We’ve fixed an issue on the PlayStation Store where redeeming the World Champions DLC code could display The Wizard DLC artwork for one of the available packs.

Now You're Speaking My Language
We’ve fixed an issue in The Herbalist where subtitles for certain NPC conversations in the Villa Security Room and Farm Control Room were displayed in English instead of the selected language.

PC VR & PS VR2 FIXES

With Love, 47
Giving Hector his love letter back is now a little more personal in VR. Players can now physically place the letter in his hand to complete the handoff.

Perfectly Framed

We’ve fixed an issue on Steam Frame, Quest 3, and other pancake-lensed headsets where what was shown in the right eye could be misaligned.

Put Your Mouth Where Your Hands Aren’t
In VR, you can now prime a grenade with one hand by bringing it to your mouth and pulling it away, mimicking the classic teeth-pull motion while keeping your other hand free.

Smooth Operator
Mission intros in Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido have been adjusted for a more comfortable VR experience, with smoother camera movement and full 3D presentation. We’ll continue rolling these improvements out to additional locations.

Uno Reverse
We’ve added the ability to catch grenades and flashbangs thrown by NPCs in VR, giving quick-thinking players the chance to grab them out of the air and send them straight back.

Left Hand Man
We’ve fixed an issue in VR where priming the fiber wire in the left hand could prevent the resulting kill from counting toward the Piano Man challenge.

Get a Grip
We’ve fixed a range of unwanted behaviours that came in with moving the priming input from the triggers to the grip buttons in VR.

Picking Up the Slack
We’ve fixed an issue in VR where none of the doors in the Chawl in Mumbai could be lockpicked.

Don’t Let Go
We’ve fixed an issue in VR where the fiber wire could be dropped partway through a choke.

Count Your Bullets
We’ve fixed an issue where NPCs in VR never reloaded and never ran out of ammunition, so firefights now have the pauses they were always meant to.

Terminal Velocity
We’ve fixed an issue in VR where an unconscious NPC dropped from a significant height would survive the landing.

Shoulder to Shoulder
We’ve fixed a long-standing issue where an NPC’s right shoulder could collapse into their body once they went into ragdoll, most visible when they landed with that arm folded in front of or behind them.

iOS Fixes

No Distractions
We’ve fixed an issue on iPad where system information, including the time, battery level and connection status, would remain visible while playing.

KNOWN ISSUES

KNOWN ISSUES

Ray Tracing on Latest Nvidia Drivers
On the newest Nvidia drivers (621.01 WHQL), launching Chongqing or Mendoza with ray tracing enabled can crash the game. Turning ray tracing off lets both locations load normally. A fix is on the way in the next patch.

Nintendo Switch 1 – The Host
We’re aware of some issues affecting The Host Elusive Target on Nintendo Switch. We’re working on them now and expect to release a hotfix in the coming week.
